, there is a special capability these operating systems have that can speed up your computer exponentially. The bad news, it’s very likely you have contracted malware from someone on the World Wide Web.
Malware come in many forms, Trojan horses, worms, spyware, and all of them are destructive to your computer. There are many 3rd party software packages that claim to destroy all of the malware on your computer. There are also many so-called freeware programs that make mostly dubious claims as to their effectiveness. If you notice strange processes running when you check task manager, or if you start to see un-prompted pop-ups, it is very very likely you have malware.
Your best bet in this case is to buy a 3rd party package to eliminate this problem. Norton, McAfee, and Bit Defender are 3 well-known software packages that are popular and the author of this piece has experience with all of them, and they all work well. If you’re determined to be cheap, there is one freeware program that is well-known to work in removing spyware.
Spybot – Search and Destroy is a freeware program distributed by Safer Networking Limited. A simple Google search on Spybot S & D will reveal where you can download the freeware. Installation is fast and simple, and once you have the software downloaded, running it is as simple as one click of your mouse.
Once you have removed those nasty infections from your computer, if you have a system running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, there is one more way you can speed up your computer. If you have a flash drive of over 4 gigabytes in capacity, you can use it to boost your systems random access memory. Plug in a blank flash drive; click your Computer icon, and right-click the flash drive. You will see a tab called ReadyBoost, click that tab. Click the radio button where it says “use this device”, click Apply, and then click OK.
Now you have a system that will run faster than a cheetah on steroids. By maintaining your computer, using ReadyBoost, and keeping malware off of your computer it will serve you faithfully for many years to come.
